My parents recently reunited me with a bunch of 1/64 scale (and similar) sized cars that I had when I was a kid. I guess I was a Jalop at heart, even back then. Here’s roughly half the collection:
Back row: Renault 25, Porsche (?), dune buggy, 4x4 truck, Ferrari (308?),Jaguar
XJ6, Banshee, Corvette
Front row: Mercedes Benz (?), BMW M3 converti
ble, Lamborghini Countache, Jaguar XJ220, 1967 Camaro, Porsche 911, Jaguar (?)
Very front: Ferrari (?)
The Dark brown Jag (and a few others, not in the photo) had color changing paint. You could run them under hot water, and they would change color.

I have color changing nail polish and it’s my favorite thing ever. I wish they could do the paint for real cars.

I tried running the brown Jaguar under hot water, and it seems like it no longer changes. Still a neat idea, though. Like those t-shirts back in the 90s that changed color... H ypercolor I think was the name. I always thought they were neat.

Those look pretty good for having been part of a kid’s collection. Mine look like they had been chewed on by a large animal then dropped in a tub of acid.

Yep, all signs pointed to Oppo.
I shared this to Live and Let Diecast, and invited you to join.

I had the Banshee in the back row too!!! I’m impressed how good they look considering you had them as a kid!!! Are we to assume you only uploaded one pic because of the new cumbersome rules when you go to upload photos now? I’m still pretty frustrated over it, to be honest!!

My parents pulled these guys out of storage yesterday as they went about their pre-move downsizing:
There were some others, but sadly they were broken enough that I said to toss them.
I’m expecting hot wheels/matchbox plus micro machines to show up at some point as they clean out their garage (I planning on keeping those).

That’s a yellowed G1 Breakdown on top, while the van is the Micromaster Tote .

Hmm, they say Tote only came in a four pack with the others, but looking at them, I only recall having Mudslinger as well. Wonder if I got them used or if my parents split up the set.
The ones I got rid of yesterday were Hoist not in bad shape, but missing some parts and frankly kind of lame, Bluestreak (missing head and green house), a large piece of Sludge (rear hindquarter), and some F-15 that I thought was Air Raid but doesn’t seem to have been, and isn’t one of the Decepticon jets either (dark blue with a gold visor, combiner sized. Regardless, missing it’s right arm/intake and canopy).
Also tossed some other things that were much more Goboty, or maybe just generic robot things, plus the (broken) tank part of this cool thing:

It’s been a while since I have posted anything, but the upload wasn’t too bad.
The Banshee was one of my favourites. If I remember correctly, it (or something like it)
was in the background of some 90s movie - like Judge Dredd, or something like that.

Thanks. I really should let my brother know about it. When we were kids, he loved to modify his 1/64 scale vehicles - and he still does. New paint jobs, swapped out wheels, new grills, shaved door handles - that kind of thing.

I believe what you’re think of is Demolition Man.

Cool! Let me know if he makes an account, and I'll give him authorship.
